Saturday 21st May
Woke up at 9am and headed straight outside. I took this opportunity to give the clio a quick blast with the jet wash as not everyone was up and ready yet....it was much needed.

Headed back though the Total oil refinery back to the docks. Had a quick game of Time Crisis and Sega Rally before we were called to board. This was it. The trip that we had all looked forward to for so long was over.

After the ferry trip and 2 hours of reminiscing the past week, we disembarked and headed out of Dover (on the left side of the road. Amazing how quickly you pick it up) still in convoy. Before long it was time for James and Matt to head off towards Bristol and me, mark, ed and zoe to head up towards cambridge/peterborough. We soon lost Ed at the Dartford crossing as he had no change and had to fill in a form to pay the toll of £1.50 via bank transfer LOL

So that it. I arrived home at 5pm after dropping mark off and having a chat with his parents.

Things we have learned from the trip

It is possible to drive from the very south of France to the very north in two days, but it's not advisable. 800 odd miles is a lot!
You can go from 2000m above sea level to 0m above sea level in a day and the temperature difference is unbelievable.
Jambon et fromage is the safe option.
Hotel Premiere Classe isn't what it sounds.
French Dominos are better than the UKs.
Monagasque McDonalds are the best in the world.
Matt wants a Dacia.
Matt wants boost.
Matt wants a Dacia with boost
Border control in Chiasso don't like having their picture taken.
Border control in Germany can be crossed at over 135mph.
Toll roads are to be avoided at all costs.
D roads are to be taken over all others.
106 Rallyes are fastest four up.
Meganes make brilliant pizza delivery cars.
Clios set speed cameras off.
Cruise control and air con are overrated... honest (James' words not mine!)
